A new gambling cruise ship, called Jacks or Better Casino, operating for only two weeks out of Galveston, Texas, literally ran into problems Saturday.
The 155-foot ship that features sports betting, table games and slot machines when it is 9.1 miles or more off shore, reportedly brushed a buoy Saturday evening, while customers were on board. It is unknown how many people were on the boat at the time of the incident, but there were no reported injuries. Sunday’s scheduled cruise was canceled due to mechanical issues, local media reports.
Tickets are $15 with each cruise lasting about six hours.
Cruises leave from Galveston twice a day Wednesday through Saturday. The day cruise departs at 11 a.m., and the evening cruise leaves at 6:30 p.m. There is also one scheduled Sunday cruise from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.
