Las Vegas-based sportscaster Brent Musburger heads the 10-person group of notables to be inducted later this year into The Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame.
Musburger, 78, now serves as lead broadcaster and managing editor of the Vegas Stats and information Network (VSiN) headquartered at the South Point Hotel, Casino, Spa. Other inductees include veteran broadcasters, Bill Raftery, Lesley Visser and Chris Berman, along with other influential leaders in the TV industry and long-time MLB commissioner Bud Selig.
The Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame was founded in 2007.
Musburger is generally regarded as one of the greatest play-by-play voices of his generation, adding his expert touch to the biggest events in just about every sport for CBS, ESPN and ABC. He retired in January to assume his role with VSiN, the gambling-centric network that began broadcasting and video streaming from the South Point earlier this year.
The 2017 class will be honored Dec. 12, 2017, at the New York Hilton Midtown.
