The news regarding the State of Kentucky's lawsuit against gambling domains dropped like a bomb. The outcome of this case concerns all U.S. casinos online. Kentucky gamblers might have to hop on the bus to Las Vegas the next time they feel their gambling adrenaline pumping.
Representatives of the 141 online gambling and poker sites that might get fined by the Commonwealth of Kentucky have handed in a brief to the court. The brief states that the game of poker should not be looked upon as a game of luck, such as winning the lottery or blackjack. The online domains’ representatives and lobbyists are trying to dismiss the charges as outside of the courts jurisdiction.
The state of Kentucky is trying to get the online gaming domains to block players from the state to enter the listed sites. The state also seeks compensation for all gaming activity in Kentucky.
Lawyers representing the online domains did not want to reveal who they were representing -- except Alice Grimes, who stated that she represents the interests of Goldencasino.com.
