Grand Dragon idea fires up baccarat at The Palazzo, Venetian

The Sixth Annual $200,000 Grand Dragon Master Baccarat Championship is being held at The Palazzo/Venetian July 28-31. This tournament features a $25,000 daily prize pool, paid out to 80 winners each day.

All Grazie club members receive one complimentary tournament entry per day. Unlimited re-buys can be purchased for $50. The top daily winner will automatically advance to the Ruby Dragon Baccarat Tournament.

The invitation-only Ruby offers a $250,000 prize pool, with top prize of $200,000. It will take place Oct. 6-8, and feature unlimited $1,500 re-buys. The top six winners will advance to the preliminary round of the invite-only $750,000 Royal Dragon Baccarat Tournament on Nov. 4.

In addition to sharing in a $750,000 promotional chip prize pool, the top three finishers will advance to the Global Final at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore in 2018. Each advancer will receive one complimentary entry to the semifinals, including round-trip transportation to Singapore, accommodations at Marina Bay Sands, and a food and beverage allowance for the player and a guest.

The traditional table game of baccarat has taken on a new level of popularity with American audiences, so much so that the Venetian and Palazzo have taken strides to make the game much more accessible to players. Traditional tables are available from only a $25 minimum bet. They also have the only Imperial Baccarat on the Strip – a live dealt $5 minimum baccarat game played on an electronic betting terminal. Green Valley Ranch

Green Valley Ranch Resort’s summer Rock Shot Bingo lineup includes Pizza Rock Shot Bingo nights on July 30 and Aug. 27. For $25 per guest, each person receives 10 electronic bingo games with 30 cards. The evening is catered by Pizza Rock, where everyone gets free pizza, and when someone at your table wins, everyone gets a shot. Winners receive prizes in addition to cash. Doors open at 8 p.m. and the games start at 9 p.m.

Themed Rock Shot bingo nights are similar in time and prize structure to the Pizza Rock nights, except most guests arrive in costume based on that month’s theme. On Aug. 10, guests are invited to show their UNLV Rebel pride at the Rock Shot Bingo game at 9 p.m. Winners can receive cash, libations and a pair of UNLV football tickets.

Red Rock

The Resort’s Rock Shot games are scheduled for July 27 and Aug. 24 at 9 p.m. They are hosted by Bryan Chan and feature DJ Shai Peri. For $25 guests receive 30 electronic cards and a free glow necklace while listening to party music and playing for a chance to win cash and prizes. The July 27 game celebrates Shark Week, and guests are encouraged to wear their best costume for a chance to win cash and prizes. The Aug. 24 game celebrates a back-to-school theme.
