UFC 114

On Saturday May 29, 2010, bad blood will spill. In the main event, Quinton "Rampage" Jackson will face "Suga" Rashad Evans (pictured).

These 205 pounders have a mutual hate for each other. Both men were rival coaches on season 10 of "The Ultimate Fighter." In this show, 16 fighters compete to get a six figure contract in the UFC.

Two UFC veterans each coach eight men and fight against each other's team. After the last two men in this "one loss and you go home" system finish, the coaches are faced against each other. Jackson and Evans made it clear they couldn't stand each other.

Jackson had to take a short leave from fighting to complete his role as "B.A. Baracus" in the soon to be released film, "The A Team." This weekend these two will go all out on each other from the get go.

It's hard to hold back angry emotions when you are fighting. Both men come in at -115. I think the layoff will work against Jackson and that his best may already be behind him. Evans seems more technical, fit and hungry for this win. They have equal punching power, but Evans has superior wrestling and ground game. My pick is Evans.

In what I like to call a "cross roads" fight, we see Antonio Rodrigo Nogiera versus Jason Brilz.

Nogiera is -550 and Brilz is +375.

Brilz seems to be an up-and-coming fighter in the 205 lb class in the UFC. Nogiera has recently dropped down from the heavyweights and seems to be slowing down a bit. He is still a dangerous veteran if you get caught sleeping, but I don't think he will have enough in his gas tank to last with Brilz.

Brilz is a wrestler with good submissions. Nogiera is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu master. But standing up, I think Brilz has the speed and power advantage over "Big Nog." My pick is Brilz.

Finally we see the return of Michael Bisping. He will face Dan Miller.

Bisping has lost two of his last three fights. Losses were to Dan Henderson and Wanderlei Silva. Does anyone remember who he beat? I don't. My point is, this guy is really good against fighters that are average. He should easily take care of Dan Miller.

Bisping is -190 and Miller is +155. My obvious choice is Bisping.

Have a fun and safe Memorial Day Weekend.

Until next time, here's to cashing some tickets.
