UFC 116

Jul 2, 2010 10:29 AM

This Saturday we finally get to see the clash between Brock Lesnar and Shane Carwin in UFC 116. This is a title shot and will be five, five minute rounds.

Both men will weigh in at 265 lbs. Lesnar is stepping in the cage after a year off due to a stomach virus. He is your favorite at -145.

Carwin is undefeated in the UFC and Brock's first true test. Both men have tremendous size, strength and wrestling ability.

Carwin is considered a little better in the striking, but Brock Lesnar isn't to be taken lightly on his feet either. When you watch this fight, it may look like to polar bears duking it out.

I don't think this one will get past the second round and will most likely have the ref pulling someone off the other due to punches to the head with their lunch box size fists.

At this point I have never seen anyone man handle people like Lesnar does. It will be tough for him to handle Carwin like that, but I think it's just to tough to beat Brock's natural size, strength and athletic prowess. My choice is Brock Lesnar.

There are not really any fights on this card other than the main event that spark a lot of interest, so I will give you the lines for a few of them.

Yoshihiro Akiyama -210 vs Chris Leben +165
Krzysztof Soszynski -230 vs Stephen Bonnar +180
Brendan Schaub -350 vs Chris Tuchsherer +250

I would stick with the favorites on this one, but leery of Leben's powerful striking.

Have a safe and extremely fun 4th of July weekend!

Until next time, here's to cashing some tickets.
