Jul 15, 2011 4:11 PM

Tito Ortiz is back and better than ever!

After his comeback win against Ryan Bader in UFC 132, Ortiz has secured his position in the UFC and accepted his next fight. With Phil Davis out of his upcoming bout with Rashad Evans in UFC 133 due to a knee injury, Ortiz was offered the fight. He stepped up to the last minute bout and has impressed UFC CEO Dana White.

In a recent statement, White confirms Ortiz’s place in the UFC, win or lose, and also mentions he likes the new Ortiz.

Officially on the card for UFC 137, October 29, are Roy Nelson and Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic. They are scheduled for a heavyweight battle at the Mandalay Bay Events Center . Hometown fan favorite, Nelson, enters the ring after back-to-back losses in UFC 117 and UFC 132. Cro Cop also enters this battle with two consecutive losses, both due to knock out.

Cheick Kongo is also confirmed for UFC 137 against heavyweight Matt Mitrione, after Kongo’s miraculous comeback against Pat Barry in UFC Live.

Brock Lesnar is on the mend according to rumors swirling in the MMA community. In seclusion at his Canadian farm, Lesnar is recovering from his second round of diverticulitis.

From the sound of it, he is totally disconnected from the public. Without the use of phones or computers, news of the ex-champ comes secondhand. While reports say Lesnar is in good spirits, some speculate his return to the cage could happen in 2012.
