Northwest Indiana’s casinos in July saw a 2.5 percent drop in revenues compared to the same month last year. Officials say a less-than-favorable calendar appear to have caused the downturn.
The five casinos in the region brought in a total of $79.25 million in revenues, compared to $81.86 million in July 2016, according to the monthly revenues report released last week by the Indiana Gaming Commission.
Of the five, only the Horseshoe Hammond and Majestic Star I in Gary experienced improvements over last year’s numbers.
