Take 1 Toronto Maple Leafs / 2 Vegas Golden Knights OVER 6
The Western Conference leading Vegas Golden Knights look to extend their franchise best winning streak to seven games when they host the Toronto Maple Leafs in a matinee affair. Game time is 12:30 pm PT at T- Mobile Arena where the Golden Knights are -140 moneyline favorites. The total is 6.
Vegas (25-9, 15-2 home, 52 points) has exceeded all expectations this season and are well on their way to becoming the most successful expansion team in league history. The Golden Knights lead the Pacific Division one point over the Los Angeles Kings and are first in the Western Conference by one point over LA and the Nashville Predators.
Jonathan Marchessault has been on fire of late with three goals and five assists over his last five games and leads the team with 34 points. Rookie goaltender Malcolm Subban, a waiver wire pickup in October, is 5-0-0 in December with a .928 save percentage although No. 1 goalie Marc-Andre Fleury is likely to start.
Toronto (23-14-1-1, 12-9-1-1 road, 48 points) will be making its final stop on a five game road trip. The Maple Leafs fell to 2-1-1 on their journey with a 4-3 overtime loss at Colorado on Friday. They should have No, 1 goalie Frederik Andersen back in net after he was rested against the Avalanche. Andersen has won eight of his last 11 decisions overall and boasts a .934 save percentage in December.
The Golden Knights are 14-2 in their last 16 home games and have taken four straight from Eastern Conference rivals. Toronto is 5-1 last six against the Pacific Division.
The Leafs are 4-1 to the OVER in their past five overall while the Golden Knights are 4-1 to the OVER in their last five vs. the Atlantic Division. Toronto beat Vegas 4-3 in a shootout on Nov. 6 in Canada.
