International Game Technology (IGT) has won "Lottery Product of the Year" honor at the 11th Annual International Gaming Awards in London for IGT PlaySpot, the company’s mobile lottery innovation.
The International Gaming Awards recognize excellence and innovation for technology, products, and services that enhance the gaming experience. A panel of international gaming industry experts served as award judges.
"This award demonstrates IGT's ongoing commitment to putting our lottery customers first through player-centric design and innovation," said Walter Bugno, IGT CEO, International. "IGT PlaySpot is helping lotteries grow in the mobile era, delivering the convenience and fun players desire, and helping them connect with lotteries on an entertainment platform they use every day."
PlaySpot, according to IGT, is designed to appeal to a new generation of players by offering new digital games and by growing the business into retail outlets where lottery does not exist today. It allows players to purchase and play lottery games on their mobile devices while at an authorized lottery retailer, even in jurisdictions where regulation does not allow Internet wagering.
