Dodgers have their beard back

VIP MLB Baseball's Dirty Dozen | The worst MLB teams against the spread coupled with bonehead decisions.
Maybe the cure for the Dodgers’ awful slide in the National League West is that red beard of Justin Turner.
The long red hair was gone, but that beard was in full bloom as the team’s emotional leader came back to the lineup in style with a 5 RBI night during a 7-0 win at Miami. Yasiel Puig, also back from his stint on the DL, had two mammoth homers in the series as LA escaped the cellar. Not that a 17-26 record and major league worst $2787 deficit for $100 wagers is reason to forgive and forget, but it’s a start.
Manager Dave Roberts received the dreaded vote of confidence from management, which means he may be looking for employment somewhere else next season. The Dodgers head to Washington, baseball’s hottest team, for a weekend series. By Monday we’ll have a better idea if LA is on the way back or stuck in the D.C. swamp.
With prized shortstop Corey Seager done for the season we’re on Manny Machado watch to see how long it will be before the Dodgers are pressured to pull off a deal with Baltimore, which is buried in the AL East cellar. Of course, the biggest loss is not having the ace Clayton Kershaw even though he is most responsible for the team’s big money deficit. When Kershaw loses there is usually a -250 to -300 price tag attached.
