Times Square could produce more excitement than usual Thursday when the UFC hosts New York City-area fans at a viewing party for a news conference promoting what it calls its biggest fight in its history.
On Thursday, UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov and former two-division champ Conor McGregor, who will meet in the UFC 229 main event at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Oct. 6th, will get face to face for the first time at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. It’s closed to the public, but the UFC is setting up a viewing party in nearby Times Square.
The news conference will be simulcast on the largest television in the world, the “Mega-Zilla” Silvercast digital screen, on Broadway between 45th and 46th streets. The news conference takes place Thursday at 5 p.m. EDT, 2 p.m. PDT.
As of Tuesday morning, Nurmagomedov (26-0 MMA, 10-0 UFC) is favored at -160 over McGregor (21-3 MMA, 9-1 UFC) +140 in odds posted by the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook.
