Boyd Gaming Corporation, the major Las Vegas “locals” casino operator with an expanding nationwide footprint, has announced that its $280.5 million acquisition of Valley Forge Casino Resort in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania is now complete.
Keith Smith, President and Chief Executive Officer of Boyd Gaming said, “We will move forward quickly with the addition of 250 slot machines to the property's casino floor, and closely examine the opportunity to offer both online gaming and sports wagering through our partnership with FanDuel Group.
Valley Forge, located only 20 miles west of downtown Philadelphia, is Boyd Gaming's first property in the state of Pennsylvania. The company now owns and operates 25 casino properties in eight states – Nevada, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Pennsylvania.
"Valley Forge represents a key expansion of our nationwide portfolio, giving us the opportunity to serve the vibrant Northeast region," Smith said.
