Green Bay Packers (2-1-1) at Detroit Lions (1-3)
Time: 10 a.m.
Line: Pick-em (51)
Facts: Detroit swept last year’s season series, but faced QB Brett Hundley both times. In one game, the Lions never punted. In the other Detroit had a plus-4 turnover edge... Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (probable, knee) says he’s improving week to week, but he still moaned about his team’s offense last week in a 22-0 win over Buffalo... Lions WR Golden Tate had 132 receiving yards in a 26-24 loss at Dallas last week, his best total the past two years... Green Bay will be without WR Randall Cobb (knee), who starred in the Pack’s dramatic Week 1 comeback against Chicago, with 142 receiving yards.
Analysis: Things are trending upward for Green Bay, with regard to Rodgers’ health, the return of elusive RB Aaron Jones (6.3 yards a carry) and a defense that got seven legal sacks in the shutout of Buffalo last week. And even PK Mason Crosby is upbeat after hitting two 52-yard FGs last week, only two weeks after botching a 52-yard try that cost GB a win over Minnesota at the end of regulation. As for Detroit, which suffered an agonizing loss at the gun last week in Dallas, their other losses came against teams that are otherwise winless. The Packers have it their way.
Forecast: Packers 34, Lions 14
