Most states will adopt much of the Nevada plan when it comes to implementing sports betting.
Occasionally, it might work the other way.
Reacting to an easier mobile sign-up system recently adopted by New Jersey, three top casino companies proposed a similar scenario Tuesday to the Nevada Gaming Control Board.
MGM, Caesars and Wynn requested that Nevada sports books be allowed to implement remote registration and identity verification for mobile accounts.
The current sign-up requirements in Nevada include the customer having to come into the property to provide identification, including social-security number.
The casinos believe the advancement of technology makes the remote sign-ups feasible and secure.
The Gaming Control Board is expected to continue to examine the possibility of making the change.
