Sweet 16 enter Nevada Boxing Hall of Fame

One of the most diverse and star-studded classes of the Nevada Boxing Hall of Fame will be inducted on Aug. 9-10 at Red Rock Resort in Las Vegas.

Sixteen individuals from three categories -- Nevada Resident Boxer, Non-Nevada Resident Boxer and Non-Boxer participant will be honored in what will be the seventh annual ceremony for the organization which was founded by broadcaster Rich Marotta.

The Non-Nevada part of the class is headed by middleweight and light heavyweight world champion Bernard Hopkins. Also in this year's class is Mexican legend Juan Manuel Marquez, Humberto "Chiquita" Gonzalez, Ronald "Winky" Wright, Vinnie Pazienza, Terry Norris and Bobby Chacon.

The Nevada Boxer class includes Wayne McCullough, Joel Casamayor, Hasim Rahman and Leroy Haley.

The Non-Boxer Participants are trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr., judge Duane Ford, promoter Dan Goossen, physician and administrator Dr. Flip Homansky and attorney Marc Risman.
