Race 1 

$40K optional claimers go 1 3/8 miles on the grass. No. 3 Masteroffoxhounds didn’t fire first out in the states but now jockey Irad Ortiz Jr. will ride. No. 7 Lure Him In looks to be sitting on a big effort. 3-7 

Race 2 

$32K maiden 2-year-olds go 5 1/2 furlongs. No. 7 Love My Jimmy is in from Keeneland and just may like it here. No. 8 Ghoster showed good early speed here when going six furlongs and now gets jockey Abel Cedillo in the irons. 7-8 

Race 3 

$62,500 optional fillies and mares travel a flat mile on the grass. No. 2 Nasty just missed last out in the Grade 3 Autumn Miss at Santa Anita. The last time No. 4 Carpe Vinum ran here at Del Mar she won as did No. 6 Croughavouke, who also exits the same last race as Nasty. 3-4-6 

Race 4 

Maiden 2-year-olds travel a flat mile. No. 5 Allaboutthemoney gets a big jockey upgrade. No. 6 Editor in Chief is a first-time starter for trainer Bob Baffert that cost $650K and jockey Flavien Prat riding. No. 7 Parnell is the speed and very unlucky to still be a maiden. 5-6-7 

Race 5 

The $100K Grade 3 Jimmy Durante for 2-year-old fillies traveling a flat mile on the grass. No. 7 Pizzazz is highly regarded and can win this coming off her big maiden win. No. 8 Fluffy Socks is in from back East for trainer Chad Brown with Irad Ortiz Jr. riding. 8-7

Race 6 

$16K claimers go 6 1/2 furlongs. No. 1 Connection finds a great spot off his near miss last out at Churchill Downs. No. 3 Great Power will appreciate the class drop and the move back to a sprint. 1**-3 

Race 7 

The $200K Grade 2 Seabiscuit at 1 1/16 miles on the grass. No. 3 Spirit Animal ships in for team Chad Brown with jockey Manny Franco riding. No. 9 Next Shares won this race last year. No. 12 Flavius is the stablemate of Spirit Animal and jockey Irad Ortiz Jr riding. 12**-3-9 

Race 8 

California bred $20K claimers go six furlongs. No. 9 Colt Fiction has won 2 of his 3 races here and he just beat $50K optional open company. We will take our shot here and single in the picks. 9**

Race 9

The $300k Grade 1 Hollywood Derby at 1 1/8 miles on the grass for 3-year-olds. No. 2 Smooth Like Strait is a perfect 2 for 2 here at Del Mar. No. 3 Scarto finished right behind Smooth Like Strait and had a troubled trip. No. 8 Domestic Spending ships in for trainer Chad Brown with Irad Ortiz Jr. riding. Trainer Christophe Clement brings in No. 10 Decorated Invader and No. 13 Gufo the one to beat off his Grade 1 win last out in the Belmont Derby. 13**- 2-3-8-10
