Last week I wrote about a good keno opportunity on the Strip at Treasure Island. Today we will discuss the other excellent Strip bargain. – the Excalibur, which has recently improved their offerings with some interesting features in their paybooks.
Despite many Strip casinos abandoning keno or paying out little compared to the excellent keno downtown, the TI and Excalibur offer the player good chances to win and enjoy the game.
Excalibur has a special rate called the Red Hot Keno Special, which they have had for quite a while. If you play 31 games or more the pays on all hits are increased 10%. This is big! Very good for the player.
Let’s see this in action. If you play a 7-spot ticket for $2 you normally receive $1.50 for 4-of-7, $15 for 5-of-7, $1,000 for 6-of-7, and $21,000 for 7-of-7 for 31 games. While the pays for 4 and 5 hits are fair and nothing special compared to other locations, the $1,000 for 6-out-of-7 is one of the best in the city. The $21,000 for 7-of-7 is the best on the Strip, though some downtown locations do pay more on this solid hit.
Now add 10% to all of the above giving you $23,100 for a 7-of -7 and $1,100 for a 6-of-7 (31 games or more). Take that to the bank if hit.
The Excalibur is really giving something to the players that’s not simply a gimmick. It is real money! An extra $2,100 really helps pay the tax on your big win.
If the Excalibur just did this with the 7-spots it would be great, but they give the 10% bonus when you play 31 games or more on the entire Red Hot Special rate from 3 to 8-spot tickets. They also offer 10% more on their Keno to Go tickets as well.
The keno game is located inside their sportsbook, thus easy to find. Buses SDX, The Deuce, 201, and the WAX (airport to downtown express) go right past the Excalibur. They also have their own free monorail from their property to the Luxor and Mandalay Bay. Plus, the buffets are good.
If you are staying on the Strip this is the place to play keno! Check with the writers on way tickets allowed on the Red Hot Special rate. Tournaments are offered a few times a year as well.
When you see a good opportunity, let the keno writers and supervisors know you appreciate them giving you a better deal than seen elsewhere. Additional play by more people keeps a good thing going.
Though the keno operation itself is small, the courtesy extended to me there is big.
Have a good time at Excalibur and watch out for knights with spears on horses. Do not worry, they are not after your keno tickets.
This small operation is definitely first class in their paybacks. It deserves your business as a keno player. Let’s hope the better games offered by Excalibur and Treasure Island can turn Strip keno around. It is up to us the players to show we appreciate these good games.
Best of luck to everyone!
