As of this writing the two big progressives are still rising. Mega10 of MegaKeno is approaching $2 million and the Atlantis 9-spot progressive is nearly at $1.25 million.
If you are in Las Vegas the two casinos using the better Megakeno paytables are the Excalibur (on the Strip, access on buses 201, WAX, Deuce, SDX) and the El Cortez (downtown, buses HDX, DEUCE, SDX, BHX, 113, 207, 215). Both of these casinos have nonsmoking keno areas for your comfort.
The Mega10 (Megakeno) costs $1.50. Way tickets at $1.50 per way are permitted, especially if you like to go for other MegaKeno progressive tickets from 5 to 9 spots. But today, our target is the Big One, the Mega10.
Here are ways to hit a solid 10. Let’s call the groups A, B, C, D, thus hit AB, AC, AD, BC, BD, or CD. If you are concerned about hitting 10 scattered numbers play a 20-spot ticket, which most casinos offer for the same numbers. Remember, as you increase ways the price goes up.
In prior columns we showed a ticket if you want to play all the progressives at once. Use a grouping of 1-2-3-4 to give you two 5s, two 6s, two 7s, one 8, one 9, and one 10 for a total ticket cost of $13.50 for the nine ways you are playing.
If you hit the same progressive twice in the same game the first hit, you get the current value and the second hit at reset value. If normal procedures are followed this only can happen if you hit all 10 numbers.
Check with Xpertx for how they would pay this ticket. You get a lot of money that is for sure! I shall plan to put the answer in a future column.
Once you know way tickets consider yourself a veteran keno player.
Note: I have received mail from some of the readers and I welcome the chance to answer it, although it may take a while. I will try to answer every letter that needs an answer.
