PokerStars.net’s inaugural North American Poker Tour (NAPT) winds up this week at the Mohegan Sun casino with its $5,000 buy-in Main Event, and $25,600 buy-in Bounty Shootout.

The third leg of the NAPT follows a largely-successful tournament at the Venetian in Las Vegas in February. Joanna Krupa of "Dancing with the Stars" once again will host the events.

The Main Event, which attracted nearly 800 players in Las Vegas, will take place April 7-11. Top poker players such as Daniel Negreanu, Vanessa Rousso, Chad Brown, Greg Raymer and reigning world champion Joe Cada are expected to participate, as well as players from Connecticut and beyond.

Multi-step satellite qualifying tournaments to the NAPT Main Event will be held in the Mohegan Sun Poker Room until the start of the tournament.

Both $230 "Step 1" satellites and $1,050 "Step 2" satellites are scheduled daily to make participation in the Main Event accessible to players at a wide range of buy-in levels.

One-in-five will advance from the "Step 1" satellites to "Step 2." One-in-five will advance from "Step 2" to the $5,000 buy-in North American Poker Tour Main Event.

The Bounty Shootout is an intriguing event, which kicks off on April 12. Not only will players gain a $5,000 bounty every time they knock out an opponent, but PokerStars.net is adding a seat into the next High Roller Bounty Shootout for the player who collects the most bounties – a prize worth almost $30,000, including accommodations.

Round one on April 12 involves nine tables of nine players, with the first place finisher from each table competing in the winner-takes-all final on April 13. All the finalists will get $50,000. The remainder (less all the bounties) goes to the overall winner.

"I had the opportunity to play in the first High Roller Bounty Shootout at NAPT Venetian in February and I have to say it’s an incredibly exciting format," said Daniel Negreanu. "I am really looking forward to the chance to play again at NAPT Mohegan Sun – and reach the final this time! It’s going to be a great event."

To give many players an opportunity to play in the High Roller Bounty Shootout event, Mohegan Sun has scheduled a special $5,250 Super-Satellite qualifying tournament at noon on Sunday, April 11. PokerStars.net is guaranteeing ten (10) $25,600 entries as prizes in this Super-Satellite, with $51,200 (2 entries) added to the prize pool. At least one in-five entrants are guaranteed to win their way through to the High Roller Bounty Shootout event through this Super-Satellite.
