Pechanga should be on poker player's list

Poker players who think they have what it takes to play in the top tournament in the world should mark their calendars for Saturday, April 30 at 2 p.m. and get themselves to the Pechanga Poker Room in Southern California.

The Las Vegas Main Event Prize Package-a trip to the World Series of Poker tournament gets underway for those who buy in for $250. The last player left takes first place and an $11,000 prize package. There’s $10,000 for the winner’s buy-in to the summer poker tournament’s WSOP main event. The remaining $1,000 is theirs to use for hotel, food and whatever else they choose to have stay in Vegas. All qualifying players will win cash from the remainder of the prize pool.

Poker players can also look forward to more fun tournaments and promotions in April at Pechanga Poker. Night Owl High Hands are awarded every Monday through Thursday from 3:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. First place takes $75 and second receives $25.

Also on Mondays are the High Hand Table Share from 1:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. The Hold ‘Em high hand every hour gets $170 for the table to share. The Omaha high hand table receives $90 each hour.

The High Hand Competition gets underway every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. From 1 to 11:00 p.m., the first place finisher pockets $250, second receives $150 and third $100. The Omaha high hand winner of the day scores $100.

Players stand to win a lot of extra cash on Fridays in April. The “Thank Goodness it’s Friday” drawings will give away $4,000. Earn entries for every hour played on Wednesdays and Fridays. Drawings take place at 3, 5, 9 and 11 p.m. each Friday. One entry will be drawn and if the winner is present, he or she wins $1,000. If the player is not in the room, two tickets will be drawn for $500 each.
