The Sahara is the new home of "X" beginning April 1. The show closed at the Aladdin last year. The Sahara also announced a new lineup for its Casbar Theatre Lounge, which includes Lena Prima doing a tribute to her legendary father, Louis Prima. Other acts include the "Divas of Comedy" and "Sixtiesmania."
Longtime Las Vegas residents, and performing veterans, Lezlie Anders and Buddy Greco have been set to guest star in the annual Palm Springs Follies starting next week. Greco has also told me that an announcement is forthcoming about the pair having their own room here.
Though you may not realize it, Tony Danza is one of show businesses’ smartest actors. He’ll more than prove it when the Suncoast hosts the Screen Actors Guild Foundation’s "Conversations" with Danza on Saturday from noon to 2 p.m. Actor Lou Diamond Philips moderates the free session with tickets available at the Suncoast box office.
Las Vegas regular Debbie Reynolds has finally found a home for her long-planned Hollywood Motion Picture Museum ”¦ Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Valued at more than $50 million (she sold off part of the collection to pay bills associated with her Las Vegas hotel venture), Reynolds told the Associated Press that she "chose Pigeon Fork because it is in the heart of the country, an ideal location for a museum that celebrates a form of entertainment that has always been shaped by American vision and creativity."
She didn’t mention that she has tried for years to open the museum in Los Angeles and Las Vegas with no success.
Grammy-award winning singer Janis Ian, an icon of the 60s, has been signed for a March 25 date at Whiskey Pete’s in Primm.

Engelbert Humperdinck is now a faith healer. The New York Daily News quoted the Orleans performer as saying, "I discovered I had the gift 10 years ago, and I have been doing it occasionally ever since." I guess that’s what the ladies visiting Humperdinck after his shows for so many years were looking for”¦some prayer!
Las Vegas is having its effect on California politics. According to the Los Angles Times, Assemblyman Ron Calderon has "obliterated his campaign war chest before he faces an opponent in November, spending the money on Las Vegas hotels, restaurants and cigars." One of Calderon’s biggest expenditures was for 10 people (capitol and district off ice staff) at the Venetian: $4,182.33 for rooms; $1,194.25 for meals at one of the hotel’s restaurants, and $1,685 for airfare.
Howard Stern’s Hard Rock remotes have been changed to May 11-13, if the shock/schlock jock is still on the air. There was a supposed conflict at the hotel for his original late April airings.
Planet Hollywood honcho Robert Earl had another dinning experience with local resident Robin Leach to discuss Leach’s involvement with the new hotel venture. I hear that it will be a management position.
Another Las Vegas drama is in the works. "West Wing" alumnus Rob Lowe, who failed in his first starring television vehicle "The Lyon’s Den," will top a CBS drama pilot called "Dr. Vegas," playing an in-house physician at a casino. I’m wondering if the character’s name will be "Dr. Feelgood."
