Dreaming bad beats

Dreaming bad beats

Heavenly Poker | We all dream on occasion. I have had nights when I dreamed about poker. Recently I had a dream that was so vivid, it seemed like it actually was happening, and repeated itself over and over during the night. I had to wonder if there was a message here for me.

Poker by George | Robert Turner made an interesting point in a column, “Show some class.” His message was that players, especially the pros, should consider their behavior and actions as they interact with others while playing poker in cardrooms and casinos.

Heavenly Poker | Everyone, even a teenager, knows an Ace is the highest card in the deck; whereas, a deuce is at the bottom of the card rankings. A pair of Aces always beats a pair of deuces – or any other pair, for that matter.

Heavenly Poker | Playing low/middle limit Texas hold ‘em, lately I find there seems to be more raising preflop, and the players are much looser. Have you noticed that, too? All that raising makes it much costlier to stay to see the flop.

Poker by George | Playing Texas hold’em, it’s always nice to be dealt an Ace in the hole. But what is the best way to play such hands? Of course, the obvious answer to that question is “it depends.” Most important is the Kicker that accompanies the Ace.

Heavenly Poker | Strategies and tactics are both important in playing winning poker. There seems to be some confusion in the poker world; many regard these as synonyms for one another. But there is a subtle difference – an important one, as a matter of fact.

Beyond the Numbers | I have been defending poker my whole career. I was once an executive host for MGM. I booked a well-known poker player who got drunk and knocked a female security guard across a gaming table. I was called because he was escorted off the property, and they asked me what to do about him.

Winning Strategies | I consider Ultimate Texas Hold’em (UTH) to be the ultimate casino game. I don’t say that just because I played a part in its creation. I played no part in the creation of video poker, but still consider it to be a transformational creation for the casino. What makes UTH as close to perfection as possible is its unique betting structure.
