It’s National Hamburger Day! Get your burgers!
This past Monday, the El Cortez served up White Castle’s to all of their players! Tuesday The Fat Bar, in conjunction with Fatburger, will offer $1 hamburgers from 4-5 p.m. in observance of National Hamburger Day on the Las Vegas Strip. The Fat Bar, located across the street from Monte Carlo, has every comfort from misters to heaters to over 20 plasma TVs. The 200-seat Fat Bar with Strip frontage was the brainchild of Darin Feinstein who owns the local Fatburger franchises. They have waitresses and cocktail waitresses along with the circular bar where bartenders serve up drinks.
The Fat Bar is open 24 hours a day seven days a week and has a breakfast menu from 5 a.m. until noon. The drink menu is extensive and offers 12 draft taps to 12 slushies with alcohol. On Thursday nights from 10 p.m.-2 a.m. a deejay plays ‘80s music. Fridays and Saturdays the deejay plays classic rock ‘n’ roll from 10 p.m.-2 a.m.
National Burger Day also has the Honorary Bürgermeister (German for mayor) Oscar Goodman serving up burgers at Smashburger. He will be greeting guests and smashing burgers, working the lunch grill at 4725 S. Maryland Parkway from 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. and autographing copies of his new book, “Being Oscar” from 11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
On Tuesday only, Smashburger will be giving away free burgers to anyone with the last name “Burger” or variations thereof. According to WhitePages.com, there are approximately 21,687 people in the United States with the last name “Burger” and 1,530 named “Hamburger.” Locally, there are more than 200 variations of the name as well.
Either way, burger lovers with variations of “Burger” – or Berger, Weinberger, Rosenberger, etc. – in their names will receive one free Classic Smash in recognition of the holiday celebrating America’s favorite food. This offer is valid for redemption at all Smashburger locations in the United States, including the five locations in Southern Nevada. Proof of last name is required (i.e. valid driver’s license, passport or picture ID) limited to one Classic Smash per ID.
Central Michel Richard at Caesars Palace will kick off summer with delicious burger specials on Tuesday. Executive Chef Todd Harrington’s delicious burger creations will be $5 off all day, available exclusively for the burger celebration. Creative burgers include the chicken burger, served with curry aioli and caramelized onions; certified Angus beef burger served with shallot aioli, bacon and cheese; and the Ahi tuna burger served with ginger aioli.
Conrad and Candice Gallagher’s popular new PoshBurger Bistro located near Summerlin will offer delicious burger specials all day Tuesday. Chef Gallagher’s decadent designer burger creations will be priced at $10 all day, available exclusively for the burger celebration.
Guests there can enjoy designer burgers, including the Kobe Burger made with truffle aioli, seared foie gras, frizzled onion, watercress, cherry tomatoes and fried quail egg; Venison Burger made with crispy shallots, cranberry relish, watercress, béarnaise sauce and roasted red peppers; Wild Boar Burger made with prune and Armagnac aioli, white onion marmalade, poached pear, Bibb lettuce and confit onion; Tuna Tartare Burger made with bean sprout, mango, Wasabi aioli, Asian coleslaw and spaghetti cucumber and more.
