Shuttered since 2014, the Klondike Sunset Casino in Henderson re-opened last month under the new ownership of Bruce Familian and Nevada Gaming Partners.

The slots-only casino is located at 444 W. Sunset Road, just west of Boulder Highway. The casino closed in 2014 after its former owner, John Woodrum, passed away. Klondike Sunset became the first new casino to open since SLS Las Vegas in August 2014.

The casino has been totally renovated from top to bottom and side to side. There is a new island bar in the center of the casino. Carpets and interiors are all new and the casino features over 200 of your favorite casino slot games, including Buffalo, Wheel of Fortune, 88 Fortunes, (up to) 99% video poker payback on select machines, Lightning Link, MegaBucks and many more.

While there are no live table games, they do offer roulette and craps electronic table games. TV’s are positioned around the casino for sports viewing and a sportsbook is scheduled to open in October. The Klondike is designed and described as a friendly local’s spot; bargain-oriented, “where you feel like a winner just by stepping through the front door.”

Player’s Edge is the Klondike’s signature loyalty club. It’s your chance to earn great perks just by playing all your favorite games. Once you’re an established member, you’ll also get invited to special events, enjoy special members-only giveaways and a whole lot more. New members who sign up for a Player’s Edge card get a choice of a free T-shirt or a baseball cap through the end of September, plus $5 in free-play. After earning your first 50 points you’ll also collect a free phone charger.

For every $1 coin-in on slots and video reels you earn one point; $2 coin-in equal one point on most video poker (a few 99%-plus video poker machines require $4 to earn a point). Five hundred points equal $1 (0.10% return) in comps and a minimum redemption of 2,500 points are required for $5 in free play. Comps can be used for food in the restaurant.

Sarah’s Kitchen is the signature 24-hour restaurant, named after its owner’s wife. Sarah loves to entertain and is quite the hostess. Guests can enjoy timeless favorites like beer batter cod, slow roasted prime rib, and great selections right from the family cookbook. Think of it as the best in home cooking – without having to do it at your house. They may also very well have the lowest price breakfast in town, too! Two eggs, bacon or sausage, hash browns and toast for $1.49 served from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Current casino promotions include Friday and Saturday “Hot Seats.” Gamblers who are actively playing are randomly computer selected once every 30 minutes between 5 and 10 p.m. to win cash up to $500. The official rules vary slightly for both nights but rules are posted in the casino. Mondays are Mystery Multiplier Days when players can earn from 2 to 15x points between 6 a.m. and 11 p.m.
