The Islanders might win the Stanley Cup. If you had said that a month ago you were likely getting laughed out of a socially-distanced bar.
The hockey has been entertaining given these unforeseen circumstances. It hasn’t looked like the players had five months off in between games.
I’m not sure if the Stanley Cup Qualifiers can be implemented in some permanent fashion going forward. There’s no denying it provided some quality entertainment.
I’ll start by saying this weekend of hockey was a thrilling time filled with a lot of unexpected happenings.
The NHL was determined to award a Stanley Cup and the restart to its season Saturday in Canada hopefully guarantees that happening come October.
