The Hard Rock name is synonymous with hospitality and entertainment that broke into the online sportsbook industry in New Jersey a few years back. The Hard Rock has since launched in Iowa and, more recently, Florida. With a casino opening in May 2021 in Indiana, the Hoosier State is expected to be a target locale for further expansion.
If you like the security that comes with an established global brand like Hard Rock International, then the Hard Rock Sportsbook is worth a look. Read on, and we’ll tell you all about the Hard Rock online sportsbook and the Hard Rock promo code.
Hard Rock Sportsbook Promo Code (3/5)
The Hard Rock Sportsbook does not require users to enter a promo code to take advantage of their welcome bonus. As for what the bonus will be, it is different in the three states the Hard Rock online sportsbook currently operates in.
|Hard Rock Indiana Sportsbook Promo Code||TBA|
|Type of Bonus||Risk-Free Bet|
|Terms and Conditions||Place first bet within seven days of making an account|
|States Where the Hard Rock Sportsbook is Available||IA, NJ|
|Promo Code Verified For||February 2023|
The Hard Rock Sportsbook makes it easy for users to enjoy their welcome bonus. They do not require users to ‘claim’ the offer or enter a promo code. All they must do is make an initial deposit and a qualifying bet. If users lose that bet, they will be credited with a free bet equal in value to their wager (max $100) once the bet is settled.
But it is worth noting that the offer is only available through the Hard Rock sportsbook app. Here’s how Hard Rock’s promo compares to other sports betting apps’:
- BetRivers: first deposit match, max $250
- DraftKings: $50 free bet and first deposit match, max $1,000
- BetMGM: $1,000 risk-free bet
- Caesars: First bet match, max value $1,001
- FanDuel: $1,000 risk-free bet
As for promotions for existing users, the Hard Rock offers what many sportsbooks offer— generous odds boosts and various free bet promotions (i.e., bet $100 on the NFL and get a $20 live free bet).
Hard Rock Sportsbook Online Features (3/5)
A review of the Hard Rock app’s features in Iowa and New Jersey may explain why it is not as well-known as other online sportsbooks— it could use some work. It is better than nothing, but if you want to bet on a niche sport, you will be out of luck.
If you are not looking to bet on swimming, handball, rugby, table tennis, darts, snooker, or some other obscure sport, the Hard Rock Sportsbook app has some excellent features.
Rewards Programs At Hard Rock Indiana
The rewards program in New Jersey and Iowa is excellent. The Rock Star Rewards program will give you the chance to earn points for every bet you make, regardless of how it is settled. Once you have enough points, you can redeem them for merchandise, hotel stays, food, etc.
While it may lack in the variety and number of sports, the Hard Rock Sportsbook app offers one of the most innovative markets in sports betting—live, in-game betting. Missed the start of the game? No problem. The Hard Rock Sportsbook app will let you place bets on various markets while a game is in progress.
Quality Of The Lines At Hard Rock Sportsbook (3.5/5)
A lot can be forgiven as long as the odds are competitive. If you consider odds similar to most books in the industry, then the Hard Rock Sportsbook has competitive odds. This is how the Hard Rock’s odds for the Monday Night Football game between the Rams and 49ers in Week 10 of the 2021 NFL season compare with two other sportsbooks:
|LA Rams at SF 49ers||DraftKings||BetMGM||Hard Rock|
|Point Spread||-3.5 (-105) / +3.5 (-115)||-3.5 (-110) / +3.5 (-110)||-3.5 (-105) / +3.5 (-115)|
|Moneyline||-180 / +155||-185 / +155||-180 / +160|
|Total (over/under)||50 (-110 / -110)||50.5 (-110 / -110)||50 (-110 / -110)|
As you can see, the odds are certainly competitive for this game. But if you were to check several games, you would find that the odds at the Hard Rock, while competitive, are often not as good as many of the other sportsbooks in the industry.
It is not unusual for sportsbooks to have the same point spread for a game. But where they will often differ is with the vig–which sportsbooks charge bettors to take their bet. It’s how sportsbooks make money.
With point spreads, the odds are often -110, which means you will need to bet $110 to win $100. So, using a vig calculator, we can calculate the vig percentage each sportsbook is charging in the above example: DraftKings— 4.71 percent; BetMGM—4.76 percent; Hard Rock— 4.71 percent.
As you can see, the lines are competitive with other sportsbooks in the industry. However, if you dive deeper, you will see that the odds, while competitive, are often not as good compared to the competition.
The Hard Rock is also slower to post odds than much of the competition. It is common for sportsbooks to post the odds for the following week’s games before the current week finishes. For example, while DraftKings, BetMGM, etc., had odds posted for Week 11 Sunday Night of Week 10, the Hard Rock had yet to post odds for Week 11.
Hard Rock Sportsbook App (2.5/5)
Bettors can access the Hard Rock Sportsbook via the mobile app, which is available for iOS and Android devices. You can also access it via a web browser. Gaining access to the Hard Rock Sportsbook mobile betting app can be a little confusing, but we will touch on more in a later section.
Hard Rock Sportsbook iOS App
The iOS version of the Hard Rock mobile betting app is available for users through the Apple App Store. You will need a different app for each of the three states Hard Rock Sportsbook has launched. The ratings for the New Jersey and Iowa versions are poor (average of 2.1 and 2.6 stars).
Hard Rock Sportsbook Android App
The Android version of the Hard Rock Sportsbook mobile betting app is available through the Google Play Store. Like the iOS version, a different app is required for each state. The ratings are just as bad for the Android versions as the iOS. The issues users have had range from location errors to banking issues and other general functions.
Hard Rock Indiana Sportsbook Site
With the issues that many users seem to be having with the apps, it may be better to go with the web version. It is designed to be mobile-friendly, and it is. The site is much like the app—clean, uncluttered, and easy to navigate.
How To Download The Hard Rock Sportsbook App (1/5)
Downloading the Hard Rock Sportsbook app is done just like any other app, but it is more complicated than it should be.
To download the app:
- Visit the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, depending on what kind of mobile device you have.
- Search for Hard Rock Sportsbook. This is where it gets confusing.
Several Hard Rock-related apps will pop up in your search. The Iowa version of the sportsbook app is marked appropriately, but the Florida version is labeled ‘Hard Rock Sportsbook.’ It is unclear which one works for New Jersey. A link on the New Jersey website will send you to the Google Play Store, but the app it sends you to is just for casino games.
- Once you download the app, click on ‘join now’ and fill out the requested information to register for a new account.
- You will be asked to connect a banking method to your account and to make a deposit.
- When asked, click ‘join’ to complete the registration process.
It is easy to download the app, register for an account, and place a bet. But it is incredibly confusing as to which app you need to download.
To place a bet, choose a market and click on it. When the betting slip pops up, enter how much you want to bet and click done. Claiming the welcome bonus is easy—you do not have to do anything. The Hard Rock will credit your account after you make a qualifying wager (and lose).
However, to use the Iowa sportsbook app, you have to give permission for it to access your contacts, make and manage phone calls, and access your photos and other media on your device. If you do not, you cannot use the app.
Availability Of the Hard Rock Sportsbook App (2/5)
The Hard Rock Sportsbook mobile betting app is only available in the three states it is licensed to operate in, and you will need a different app for each state. Compared to other books, the Hard Rock Sportsbook mobile app is behind the curve regarding availability. Expansion is expected, but it is hard to say just when it will occur and where.
Michigan and Indiana have been talked about, but a launch date has not been announced for either. It is also not clear when one may be available. As for any connection to online casino games, Iowa does not allow them.
A Hard Rock Florida sports betting app was available for a short time, but until sports betting laws are worked out between the Seminole tribe and state officials, Hard Rock won’t be able to relaunch its mobile app in the state.
Hard Rock Sportsbook Review – Overall Score (2.5/5)
For a company as big as Hard Rock International, you would think they would commit the resources to develop a better website and mobile betting app before launching.
Why Should I Download Hard Rock Indiana Sportsbook?
- The reward program is excellent (where offered).
- The app has a clean interface that is easy to navigate.
What Could Be Improved:
- The value of the welcome bonus is low; what promotions are offered are relatively low in value as well.
- The number of sports with odds offered is limited, as are the markets for the sports that are covered.
- The app/website feels limited and incomplete. Both could use some upgrades and further development.
