Horses to Watch

SANTA ANITA

TAKE CONTROL: First time starter out of the Baffert stable was bet hard in this mile race coming out of the one hole and that is one tough spot for a first time starter, let alone going a distance of ground for a first time 2yo, but this colt ran like a pro and just stormed home and has the looks of a big time race horse and is one to follow.

SMOOTHE AS CANDY/EMPIRE SPRING: Both fillies ran together in this flat mile on the grass but for some reason a 58-1 shot got an easy lead and held them both off by a head, both of these fillies will come back to win in the very near future going long on the grass.

PRACTICAL MAGIC: Had speed between horses but got in tight on the backstretch and had to take back, he was switched to the outside and split horses down the lane and picked up the show dough but may have been best with a better trip. Look for this guy in the winners’ circle for his new connections next time out. $$$

KELLYSKITCHEN: Put in a much better then looked effort in this fourth place finish and if she can find some pace to make her run next time out she could pop at a nice price.

SOUL CANDY: Just loved how this Birdonthewire gelding broke his maiden on the grass in his last start, he should able to move up and beat winners in a non winners of one allowance race in his next start. $$$

RAINBOW GOOSE: Loves this 6½ furlong downhill turf course but got stuck on this inside in this race and had to check off heels in midstretch but came out and just did miss by less than a length. If this guy gets an outside post in his next try just go to the window and take a good shot. $$$$$

TANDA: Took to the grass like a duck to water and that is what I said would happen as we singled this girl in my daily race selections. This girl could move up and repeat on the grass.

GOLDEN GATE FIELDS

MAROON: Was very unlucky to lose his last start, he will only need a little pace in his next start going long on the grass to get the job done.

LITTLE MORDI: Has come around for trainer Miyadi and was just another winner you could have gotten here on our GT website and this guy paid a nice $14.60; I look for him to find a nice spot next time out and notch another win.

SUPER SALESMAN: Had a very troubled trip in this 8k maiden claimer, look for a rider switch next time out and if it is K Stra take a big shot. $$$$$

THE LEGAL BLONDE: Looked spotted for the win but just could not run down the lone speed but was a clear second in this 11/8 turf route, NO mistakes for this girl next time out, she will be a very good single. $$$$$
