SANTA ANITA

FANTASY FREE: Was a single release here on the website on my daily horse selections and this gelding got a perfect trip under a great ride by the hot riding Victor Espinoza as he came right up the rail and nailed the speed on the line paying $23.40 for our happy website subscribers.

THE FINAL ROAR: Pulled between horses stalking the pace but was shuffled back into the turn and had to angle to the inside turning for home, he edged out for the run and came back on to pick up the show dough in what was a very good try despite trouble.

PINSTRIPE KID: Broke in the air and was dead last and looked hopelessly beaten, the Kid gathered himself and made a big four wide run into the stretch and came storming down the stretch to be one of three on-the-wire finishing a gutty third.

SISTER DAWN: One of several first time starters out of the Sadler barn that have been ready to run. Dawn looked super on the track and was bet like a good thing going off at 9-5 and she ran like odds-on as she pulled away late under a snug hold. $$$$$

VIVA MACHO: Was dismissed at 50-1 but just ran a huge race in this straight maiden race going 11/16 despite encountering trouble when caught behind a wall of horses. Once clear he made a nice run finishing second behind our HTW winner Nextdoorneighbor. He will be a good price in his next start and well worth a few bucks.

GOLDEN GATE FIELDS

J’sSTORMTRACKER: Raced up behind the leaders and had to be steadied back losing several lengths and positions, he then made a wide move just missing the place by a nose.

CLOUDBREAKER: Tracked the early speed from the rail and was ready to make his run but got caught behind one of the tiring leaders and was steadied sharply and fell far back and lost his chance but did come back on late to finish off the super. $$$$$

VEILLIT’: This is a filly that can run and may have won today but lacked room into the stretch and had to angle out but came on strong and just did get beat by a neck. If she can stay clear of trouble she will get the win next time out and could be a good single.

SHADOW LAKE: First-time starter was off slow and had to be rushed to take a short lead but she then jumped at shadows and took back and had to settle for the show dough.

SMOKEN WEST: Hesitated at the start to be off slow, she tracked the leaders to the turn when she made a wide late run finishing third in what was a good effort despite her antics.

ZEHNER’S ZENNA: First time starter was bet like the race was over in this 20k maiden claimer, she broke sharp and battled tooth and nail in the early going but tired late. She was claimed for the 20k and you don’t see that very often at the Gate.

FLASHY GREEN: Was steadied in the opening strides and fell back, he then came through an opening on the inside and rallied to the front and just exploded to win going away in what was a flashy win.
