SANTA ANITA

TUSCAN MOON: Was in from Tampa Bay Downs and landed in the John Sadler barn, she was making a big wide run in this 6½ furlong downhill turf sprint but got knocked six widest of all turning for home and just lost her punch. This filly will be a huge price in her next start and we just may take a plunge with a jockey switch. $$$

ROYAL F J: Very unlucky to still be a maiden running second in five straight losing two by a half length and one by a nostril.

NICOLE H: Broke sharp but then the ground broke underneath and she went to her knees and was far back, she made a late run but had to settle for the show dough.

PIOUS DAVID: Broke slow and to the inside, than angled out for room but got blocked behind horses into the stretch and lacked room again passing midstretch and lost all shot and was not put to the whip. Just toss this race and give David a big shot to rebound in his next start.

WORKING CAPITAL: The word was out on this guy as he was bet down from 8-1 to 3-1 at post and he ran to the money. He looked cooked down the lane but just surged late after being passed and drew away for an easy win. Look for another good effort in his next start off the Doug O’Neill claim.

LASERBEAM JACKSON: Second time starter for trainer Gary Stute was completely dismissed at the betting windows going off at 77-1. In his first start he was bumped hard and broke out at the start losing all shot with a low profile jock. In this his second start the bug boy Santiago Reyes took the mount and got up for the big win paying $157. Sometimes these types come right back and run big at another huge price.

MEDAGLIA d’AMOUR: Is now two for two on the grass and has the looks of a filly that will be moving up to the big time going long on the grass, one to follow up the ladder.

EL NADIA: Was coming off a nice win on the down hill turf course in her first start in the country and now was being stretched out to a flat mile, she ran big but had to settle for second, look for more good races from this one going long on the grass.

RAGING WIT: Had no pace to make his late run in this mile turf race. This guy is just sitting on a monster effort and only needs a little pace up front to get the job done. $$$

REBECCA: First time starter has some talent, she battled tooth and nail the entire trip and just did give it up late but was a clear second and has the looks of a good single in start No. 2. $$$$$

GRATO: First time starter took big action but really never got untracked and finished up the track. He was claimed by John Sadler for 32k so looked for a much improved effort in his next start.

LIONS STORY: Ran a winning race but just did lose the bob, this guy can flat out run and will be a very good play next time around the track. $$$$$

DONTMESROUNDWITJIM: Was coming off the layoff and trying the grass, he ran a big race and could pop next time out at a price.

GOLDEN GATE FIELDS

ROOSTER: Took big early money and ran OK off the layoff, maybe next time.

FRANKS SISTER MARY: Emerald Downs shipper was coming off a long layoff and just had no shot at the runaway odds on winner, next time.

CHECK IT OUT: Comebacker was outsprinted for the lead, she was making a big run but got caught behind a wall of horses, she then swung out and came four wide picking up the place money while three lengths clear of the rest. $$$$$
