SANTA ANITA

Race 3

No.1 No.1 LAKE MARACAIBO: Bill Spawr first time starter just got hammered at the windows at 15-1 morning line down to 5-2 by post time. She ran a winning race, but could not catch the speed late. Missed by a half length while gaining with every stride late. This filly will be a good single next time out. $$$

No.4 COMIN EASY: First time starter breaking from 10 post in this 6½ furlong downhill turf sprint showed good early speed. In chasing the lone speed, she just could not get to that filly. Hung on well to finish a game third. This filly looks to have some talent and will be hard to beat next time out here or maybe the 6 furlong Hollywood turf course. $$$

Race 4

No.1 BARON VON RED: Ran a super race against the bias on this sloppy sealed track despite bobbling at the start. He made a nice late run picking up the show. Look for a big run next time out on a fast track.

Race 7

No.5 JAIRZIHNO: Just one day late this guy made the exact same move as the Bejarano made on the horse above but this guy had the very low profile G Ercegovic in the irons and the stewards said he is coming down and they should be ashamed but I am sure they are not. I guess in California if your high profile you can get away with murder, OJ and Robert Blake come to mind, and in the NBA the good players like K. Bryant can get away with a lot more than the low profile guys. I guess when the Santa Anita stewards are not making their calls at the track they must be serving on the 9th court of appeals or pulling jury duty. That’s just my opinion as I see everything through neutral binoculars.

Race 8

No.2INDUSTRY LEADER: Just an amazing race this guy ran as he stumbled badly at the start. Was four wide on the turn and five abreast into the stretch. Came strong down the lane to miss by a slim nostril on the bob.

Race 9

No.2 CAMBINA: When the rains come they run and hide their heads. These rains hampering her chances as she had to come from far back. Tried hard coming four wide into the stretch, but way too much ground to make up. She ran a better than looked sixth, losing the entire race by 2½ lengths.
