The Kansas Lottery is still negotiating with a developer over a new plan for a Wichita-area casino. Lottery spokeswoman Sally Lunsford says agency officials and representatives of the Chisholm Creek partnership expect to continue their talks next week. She says the lottery can't comment further. The lottery and Chisholm Creek had agreed previously on a proposal for a $225 million casino complex in Sumner County near Mulvane, about 20 miles south of Wichita. But Chisholm Creek requested and received more time in early December to revise its plans. Kansas law provides for private developers to build and manage casinos under contract with the state.
