The Venetian last Friday kicked off its Deep Stack Extravaganza poker tournament, which continues through Feb. 24.
The popular poker event features affordable buy-ins starting at $340, with No Limit Hold’em the primary game offered.
But there are also Pot Limit Omaha Hi-Lo and H.O.R.S.E. events as well.
True to its name (Deep Stack), each event starts with a significant amount of chips, generous blind structures and 40- and 60-minute levels.
Players can win their way into the events as single table satellites are held every day from 8 a.m. to 2 a.m.
A new feature of the tournament this year is the main event sponsored by PokerStars.net, the North American Poker Tour Venetian Event, which will be filmed for television and held Feb. 20-24.
The $5,000 buy-in main event is guaranteed to draw some of the biggest names in poker from around the world. Single and two table satellites will run daily.
Super satellites for the main event will be held on Feb. 19.
The four players that accumulate the most player points throughout the Deep Stack tournament will be awarded Best Overall Player cash awards. One-half of 1 percent will be withheld from the prize pool of each daily tournament and added to the Best Overall Player prize pool.
The standings will be updated daily and posted in The Venetian poker room.
