Business really improved during the month of February for the licensed casinos in Mississippi.
According to state officials, casino revenue showed a 15 percent increase from the previous month and even was up 3.6 percent over the revenues won in February, 2009.
Total revenues amounted to $222.3 million. In January, the number was $193.2 million while last year the win was $216.5 million.
Showing the most improvement were the gaming properties in Tunica County, Vicksburg and Natchez, with increases of 24.9 percent.
Officials said February has always been a good month for the casinos possibly because it is a time when many people receive tax refunds.
