The House votes Wednesday whether to ignore a veto threat and support legalizing video slots in New Hampshire.
Gov. John Lynch said Friday he will veto a Senate bill legalizing up to 17,000 of the machines at six locations as well as a scaled-back House proposal limiting the number of machines to 10,000 at five locations.
Lynch has said he is concerned the machines will proliferate, but critics point out that his plan to solve New Hampshire budget shortfall contains a study of fantasy sports betting on the Internet. They argue that would mean access to gambling will be available on home computers.
