If Sands Bethlehem Casino Resort is any indication, what the folks in Pennsylvania wanted all along was a full-fledged casino.

After opening as a slots emporium, the property last week added a variety of table games and the customers poured into the facility.

"After just a first day of table games," said property President Robert DeSalvio, "you can feel an increased sense of excitement throughout the property. Combining table games with our slot machines and our mix of great dining and entertainment options creates an environment we are confident will attract visitors from across the region."

Sands Bethlehem not only serves residents of northeastern Pennsylvania but also New Jersey and New York City.

It was one of three Philadelphia-area slots facilities that were licensed to add table games to their gambling menu. The other two were Philadelphia Park and Harrah’s racino in Chester. Games include blackjack, craps, roulette, poker and baccarat.
