Once again, Arizona dog and horse tracks are lobbying state lawmakers to approve video lottery terminals at their facilities. Previous attempts have failed.

A bill has been introduced but it has not been scheduled for a hearing, as yet.

Biggest opponent to the potential racinos are the state’s operating casinos, all owned by Indian tribes.

Racinos would develop revenues that could increase their racing purses and thus could be found attractive by California horsemen, according to supporters.
