Mass. Gov. Deval Patrick may see a gaming plan developing

They’re back at it again in Massachusetts and even Gov. Deval Patrick has indicated he could see a gaming plan developing although there is nothing firm as yet.

Hearings on expanded gambling in the commonwealth begin this week.

Patrick, who favors licensing two casinos, has rejected a plan supported by House Speaker Robert DeLeo that would permit horse and dog tracks to install slot machines.

Recently, the operators of Suffolk Downs announced it had forged an agreement with Caesars Entertainment Corp. to provide the operational expertise should the East Boston racetrack be granted a casino license.
