MGM Resorts International (MGM) has reduced operations at its Gold Strike in Jean, Nevada, according to published reports. A company spokesman was quoted as saying that about 60 workers were affected by the closing of a 500-room tower and other modifications to the gaming floor and property restaurants. The company will continue to operate a 300-room tower but the coffee shop will be closed and the property’s steakhouse will be modified into a lesser eatery. The casino’s sister property across Interstate 15, the Nevada Landing, was demolished a couple of years ago.
