What do Manny Pacquiao and Steak’N Shake have in common? No, it isn’t neither can sing.

The correct answer is they are the best in the world "pound for pound." I did find the perfect burger for the person who doesn’t wish to feel bloated after leaving the table.

Michael Gaughan’s decision to bring Steak ’n Shake to South Point was brilliant. In existence since 1934, I used to see the S&S when I worked in Daytona Beach, Fla.

The 50’s style atmosphere rocks and the prices ($3.99 for a half-pound double-double steakburger) with American cheese and fries is awesome.

A nice twist is the very thin fries that are really tasty, crunchy and numerous. The drinks are large with service under 10 minutes. Imagine not having to spend a lot to get a lot. What a concept!

To cap the meal there’s always the shakes, chocolate chip cookies and just about every old time favorite you can imagine. The restaurant is roomy, clean and efficient. No wasted space. Everything works. Its white and black checkerboard tile is bright and full of smiles from employees who you can see enjoy what they are doing.

The race and sports book also has the Del Mar Bar if you so choose or the Gaughan signature 75-cent Chicago-style hot dogs. Now if we just get a Pacquiao sighting, we would really be cooking.
