Everyone at Lake Las Vegas is gearing up for a huge party Memorial weekend. The fun gets started on Thursday at 7 p.m., on the streets of MonteLago Village with free live entertainment featuring the unique and ultra-cool Phat Strad, Electric Strink Quartet.

At 9 p.m. a dazzling fire works display is set to start over the Village, and immediately following Casino Monte Lago will officially open for business, welcoming everyone.

The casino will host a Tacos & Tequila Festival on Sunday from noon to 6 p.m. at The Village Lake Las Vegas. Other events are also planned for all of Lake Las Vegas in celebration of the opening.

Ravella at Lake Las Vegas will offer a $49 room rate from May 26-31, and has scheduled their own Memorial Day weekend celebration.

On Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., the hotel is hosting a Caribbean-themed pool party. Guests will be able to groove to the beat of a live steel-drum band while noshing on Caribbean-inspired dishes like jerked pork shoulder with lavash wraps, grilled salmon with lentil ragout, and banana fritters with vanilla bean ice cream. Mojitos and mai tais from the Lagoon Bar & Grill will be featured.

After the pool bash, guests will be able to unwind under the stars to the sounds of Grammy-award winner Skip Martin, best known as former lead singer of Kool & the Gang. He will be playing during the Gimme Shelter outdoor concert at The Village Lake Las Vegas, benefiting Heaven Can Wait Animal Society. Ravella will provide guests who book the Memorial Day Weekend package with two complimentary tickets (limited to 40 tickets).

The concert, which goes from 6 to 9 p.m., kicks off with a special performance by U2 tribute band, Arms of America, followed by Martin’s performance of his smash hits!

On Sunday there will be a second pool party with celebrity host Angel Porrino and her son Roman. Guests will be able to soak up the hot Vegas rays and munch on summer favorites including sliders, smoked beef brisket and grilled chicken drumsticks. There will also be a hot dog by-the-foot station, German-style potato salad, sliced watermelon and fresh berry shortcake.

The party includes a live deejay along with balloon animals, face painting and cotton candy for the children. The fun starts at 11 a.m. and continues until 5 p.m.

Ravella’s pool parties are only open to hotel guests. For those guests who do not book the Memorial Day Weekend package but wish to attend the events, wristbands can be purchased upon check-in.

The Jazz on the Lake concert series also returns to The Village Lake Las Vegas this summer. The free concert series attracts some of the best local jazz artists, who perform in a relaxing atmosphere on the water’s edge. Concerts are 7 to 10 p.m. each Saturday and are free to the public.
