The Mississippi River is receding and the Tunica casinos are rolling out the red carpet for their reopening. All nine Tunica casinos will be open in time for the Memorial Day weekend and some of them are planning reopening celebrations.

According to the Tunica Convention and Visitors Bureau online blog, Resorts Casino reopened Thursday at noon.

Bally’s, Harrah’s and Fitz casinos reopen Friday at noon, 1:30 p.m. and 4 p.m., respectively. Sam’s Town and Hollywood casinos reopened Wednesday.

Gold Strike, Horseshoe and Roadhouse casinos reopened last week.

Casinos remain closed in Greenville, Vicksburg, Lula and Natchez as floodwaters recede.

The shutdowns of the state’s 19 riverfront casinos will be reflected in May gaming revenues, set for release in June.

Gaming revenues in April fell 11 percent to $189.3 million, down from $212.1 million in March, according to the state Department of Revenue.
