Business at an East Chicago, Ind., casino operated by Ameristar Casinos Inc. (ASCA) has been hurting since a bridge linking it to Chicago, Ill., was closed.

After months of study, the Indiana Department of Transportation says it will build a $150 million bridge as a replacement, provided Ameristar kicks in $35 million toward the project.

That was Ameristar’s plan prior to recent legislative action in Illinois that would license a casino in downtown Chicago.

The gaming company says it is reviewing the situation in light of the Illinois action.
