Today, U.S. Digital Gaming, Inc. ("USDG") announced the hiring of former FOX and Walt Disney Senior Executive Jon Richmond as its Chief Executive Officer. Richmond will guide the company’s activities to deploy the most comprehensive, legally compliant, Internet gambling platform in the US, at a time when numerous states are clearly moving toward the legalization of online gambling.
Richmond’s unique experience will allow him to integrate the key elements of the online gambling space, including technology, interactive entertainment, e-commerce, and online marketing. A highly accomplished leader in the area of digital and interactive media, under his leadership, News Corporation became a major force in the digital arena, leveraging the massive reach of its franchises over multiple platforms, while creating compelling, original digital content. As President of News Digital Media, Richmond also oversaw the development and operation of FOX.com, FOXSports.com, and FOXNews.com. Mr. Richmond recently served as a Managing Director at investment firm Houlihan Lokey where he led the firm’s Media, Sports, Gaming and Entertainment Industry Group.
"We welcome Jon Richmond to USDG, where he will help grow our company and redefine online gambling in America," explained Richard D. "Skip" Bronson, USDG Chairman and Co-Founder. "Jon’s expertise sits squarely at the confluence of digital entertainment, online commerce and our vision of gambling. He brings broad expertise and experience to our industry, and I’m confident that he’ll create a meaningful, high-impact footprint, as he has done at Fox, Disney, and Houlihan Lokey."
Richmond added, "I believe the accomplished team at USDG is perfectly positioned to bring together the various stakeholders – state governments, existing casino operators, and other long standing gaming interests – to ensure the successful introduction of legalized online gambling in the US. We are at a "perfect storm" moment, when all the elements are coming together to rapidly create incredible value, as this proven market becomes legal, regulated and adopted across the US market."
