A gaming license, once awarded to the Mashantucket Pequot Indians, operators of Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut, remains in limbo, according to a decision of the chairman of the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.

Chairman William Ryan, Jr., says the license is in the hands of the state legislature and that the lawmakers will have to decide what to do with it.

The tribe’s license was revoked when it failed to build a planned casino in the Philadelphia area.

It’s possible, said a legislative spokesman, the lawmakers will decide to not award the second Philadelphia license to any group.
