The hope of Bob Kraft and Steve Wynn to build a casino in the town of Foxborough, Massachusetts, ended last week when townspeople elected two selectmen who were on record as opposing the project.

Kraft, owner of the New England Patriots NFL team, had suggested that Wynn, CEO of Wynn Resorts Ltd. (WYNN) could locate the gaming property on land he owned near the Gillette Stadium.

When the plan was announced, three of the members of the town’s Board of Selectmen, indicated opposition to a casino. Following the vote last week, the board would be 4-1 opposed.
