The 21 union members who were arrested while protesting outside the Tropicana Casino & Resort in Atlantic City will not be fired, according to the property’s management.

However, all 21 will remain suspended for 30 days as punishment for participating in a traffic-blocking protest staged by members of Local 54 of the Unite-HERE union.

Following the protest, Tropicana management was granted a restraining order prohibiting any further such protests, Tropicana President Tony Rodio said.

The union has been protesting the company’s decision to terminate an employee pension plan in favor of cash payments.
