A Georgia-operated casino boat is alleged to have been permitting illegal gambling in state waters off the coasts of Georgia and South Carolina.
Federal officials have charged the general manager of Diamond Casino and two of his boat captains with operating an illegal gambling business on a regular basis.
Gambling on a cruise boat is permitted in international waters but not in state waters. To offer gambling legally, the boat must sail beyond three miles from the coastline.
Officials plan to seize nearly $7 million earned by the cruise ships.
