Robert Sturges resigns as CEO of Nevada Gold and Casinos

Nevada Gold & Casinos Inc. (UWN) has announced that Robert B. Sturges has resigned his position as chief executive officer and as a member of the board of directors to pursue other business interests.

The company immediately named Ernest E. East, former senior vice president and general counsel, as interim CEO.

East, whose previous experience includes stints with Hyatt Gaming Services and Trump Hotels and Casino Resorts, will report to Chairman Bill Sherlock and two other members named to an oversight committee.

The company will hold a conference call on Wednesday, Sept. 12, to report on its financial experience during the first quarter of fiscal 2013.
