He only asked for $15 million but the jury Monday decided it was worth $20 million so that was what they awarded Steve Wynn in his lawsuit against porn producer Joe Francis, founder of “Girls Gone Wild.”
Wynn charged he was slandered when a dispute developed over a multi-million gambling debt and Francis said Wynn threatened to kill him and bury his body in the desert.
Wynn vigorously denied making the threat. And his case was strongly supported by music icon Quincy Jones, who denied ever telling Francis that Wynn wanted to kill him.
In siding with Wynn, the jury determined there was clear and convincing evidence Francis slandered the CEO of Wynn Resorts Ltd. and knew his allegations were false when he made them.
According to reports, neither Wynn nor Francis was in court when the decision was announced.
